Title: Quantum entanglement network applications
Duration: 01/08/2024 - 31/07/2026
Principal Investigator: Mario Ziman
Budget: 228 247.20 €

Project Mission: In short, the research objectives includes "theoretical support" for the development of quantum communication infrastructure designed within European initiative euroQCI by the photonic lab at RCQI. This initiative aims to implement a widely accessible quantum layer of communication network enabling quantum distribution of secure keys between the users. Our research effort will go beyond and will focus on the potential exploitation of operating quantum network infrastructures for the purposes of quantum network communication (e.g. entanglement distribution) and multipartite classical communication tasks. Simultaneously with the development of communication protocols our research activities will be targeting certification methods evaluating the performance of quantum network platforms, i.e. identifying the critical parameters (multipartite entanglement and nonlocality) and design verification protocols for their experimental evaluation.
