Budmerice is a small village 35 km north of Bratislava. Budmerice chateau has been built by Palfy family in the late XIX century.
Presently it is owned by the Slovak Literature Foundation. Budmerice is easily accesible by car or bus from Bratislava (see
the instructions bellow).
The first written mention of village Budmerice originates from 1296 under name Pumurich.
Former inhabitans had dealt with viticulture and carrying trade, latter in 17th century with breeding fish, working in mills and pottery.
It belongs to the Cerveny Kamen (Red Stone) county. The present name the village has had since 1948.
Budmerice counts 1920 inhabitants. It is situated near the small towns Pezinok and Modra famous
for their wines.

Note: there is no direct connection between these two destinations. However, you can easily
get there via the Main Railway station. Together it takes maximally one hour.

(last stop = Bus Station, duration about 10 minutes)
Note: Those of you that arrive to Main Railway Station can meet our "guide", who will
take you to the Bus station. The time of the meeting is 17:30 somewhere in front of the main entrance.
